ok, this is for everyone who gets all rattled up whenever an update limits the ability to farm: Get over it...Farming is repetitive and boring for most players, but when actions are not taken to limit it, it is something any player that wants to make money must resort to. When farming happens, there is an increasing supply for a deminishing demand, therefore, when you find that superior absorption rune during a mission, it will yeild much less income when you go to sell it becasue someone with no life farmed ettins/giants/zealots (or whatever else) all day long and is selling the stuff at competitive prices. What this basically means is that you won't be able to sell stuff for as much, but you won't have to pay as much for items bought from other players. however, when buying from the game, the merchants and armorers prices are not competitve, so you can kiss your dreams of ever getting 15k or (heaven forbid) fissure armor goodbye. The only people who will be able to afford it are the people that have nothing to do but farm all day and control most of the money supply in GW...and even for them, the game becomes less and less fun as they have oh so much money, but nothing really to buy with it. Farming is lame...let it go people. Now go ahead and flame me

well i totally agree.. but so many similar posts. i think everyone already gets the point, and most importantly anet know exactly whats going on.

/puts totaly trust in the developers and leaves it at that

Rune farming was stupid and I'm glad it was removed. but it does hurt that they took out places that were purely money farming. Like the area outside Aurora glade, earn about 5-10 k an hour if you knew what you were doing, and nothing good dropped. A few gold axes that were low damage and poor components. I thought the idea of the game was you didn't need to spend a lot of time to get good at the game, Which sounds false when it takes days or weeks to earn enough money to get runes you need, or if you want the 15K armor.. that will take forever to earn money for now. How about people after Fissure armor, even with the farm i used, that would take weeks to earn the money to get.. now well... only people who got to exploit farming can ever hope to get it.

yah i wish i would of gotten this game earlier because i always did bot on D2 because easy too get rich.. but the reason i botted in d2 after the reset of ladder was because I've been playing that game for a solid 3-4 years and have gotten all items bymyself and so on... but think of it this way .. i don't know how long this game has been out.. but if it has been out lets say... 6-7 months i dunno and I've gone threw the game beating all missions and finding out where to "farm" all these items (like finding out in d2 meph is the place too bot / botting pindle was good too) I should have the right if i did find out everything bymyself (not like most farmers who just go around asking like a nub.) to go take advantage of my findings and spend my own reckless hours clearning that one area over and over again... it would be my time spent in a game for my own benifit.. nobody is saying YOU cant farm, YOU can farm if YOU would like but YOUR only looking at this from 1 prospective.. now i hate farming in this game.. it's rather retarded but being a former botter on D2 i can see where they are coming from

hey! i'm one of those. not spoiled i dont think. it's a different game i accept that! d2 was a game meant for farming and being the best. this game isn't anyways knowing farming isn't part of this game helps to not miss it when they take it away. plus if i want to farm i can always put my d2 cd back in and roll. woot!

I think you're misunderstanding. I think you're right, the idea of the game is that you don't need to spend time to be on a competitive level. You don't necessarily need expensive runes to compete with other teams. Also, you don't need the 15k armor. The 1.5k armors in Droknar are equivalent. I think it's basically for players who have nothing to spend their abundant amount of gold on.

all the things i have Bolded are true... except this "I think you're misunderstanding. I think you're right" i dont even understand that :S but anywho yah.. i think the idea of the game is that people who play more are going to be more further and more competitive then people who just start out for example people who just started out are going 2 be in ascalon.. imagine if people who just started out could go lets say to the desert within there first few hours of playing? it would be insane and they would obtain "free" decent items. instead of waiting it out and playing for them. and yes u do need expensive runes to compete with other teams... if they all got superior runes to there abilitys they focus on and u got none your gunna be outpowered. BUT you are right on how you dont need the 15k armor. its just a ncie aspect 2 being rich

Farming is not repetitive and boring. If you don't like it, you don't have to do it. Period.

I enjoy farming. I ENJOY farming. It is honestly fun for me. The excitement when I see a gold weapon, then ID'ing it to find I've unlocked a new component. THAT is fun.

YES exactly the people who thing its repetitive and boring are the ones who think it should be taken out... its just like if we took out arenas for people who dont like PvP battles.. (dont get me wrong i love PvP) just using it as an example.

so really before you say farming is for people who just want money and cash there is exciting momments like "toast" stated nobody is forcing you to farm to keep up with economy. even tho you kinda have to >.<

Well if you love the process of farming then good news: you can still do it, you just won't get as rediculous of drops. Face it, you don't like the process of farming, you just like hoarding rare items. If you liked slaughtering the same mobs then nothings stopping you from doing so. Really I think it's an easy way out...like "I don't want to put the time into playing the game and getting things (runes, armor, ect.) as I go, I just want everything now." I mean, I know you can say "I like the joy of finding a new rare item" but it's not like you're any less likely to get rare items now, you just can't constantly haul in tons of expensive things from the same mobs over and over. Also, you're right, I don't like to farm mobs all day long, but that's not the reason I'm against it. If you'd have read the first post on this thread you would maybe have caught that.

Well here we go again with pvp players flaming the pve players for playing the game.

This is so funny you bunch of pvp only players, lol all you know how to do is wine wine wine bitch moan and complain.

No where that i can see does is state anywhere on the guild wars site or in there books that it is mandatory to farm.

This game was made for 3 different classes of ppl
1.ppl that like pvp only
2.ppl that like pve only
3.ppl that like both <<<<<primary for the game

If someone likes to play pvp only nothing should be said to them b/c they like to play against other humans

If someone like to play pve only nothing should be said to them b/c they like to play against the enviroment

But guess what someone that like to play both can not get everything there first time through the pve part of it.They have one of 2 choices

1.Farm for items and runes to unlock for pvp
2.Farm for money to buy stuff that other farmers have got.........
which reminds me there is a WHOLE LOT of you pvp only players begging farmers to get stuff for you to buy so you dont have to farm for it yourself.

So if i were you i would stop the bitching and glad there are ppl out there that likes to farm and spend countless hours getting stuff for your lazy buts.

Which by the way i really dont think yall are mad at the process. quote "FARMING" but mad at the players that will put the time to get what they need b/c they will have better stuff than you...................lol bums.

Get over it farming is part of playing

ill admit it im into the farming scene, but im not doing it for fun im doing it cause you have to just to get by, i mean the amount of gold coming into a normal player bank account aint enough of what the games asking for. for example lions arch rune trader has superior vigor and absorption for 55k-75k. now i ask you this what normal player would be able to afford this. you either gotta be a farmer or a hoh winner, sigils going for 60k-can be won in hoh but you gotta be good, you cant just be one of those casual players that likes to get on and play for a couple hours a day.

face it everything is overpriced leading to a constant grind of farming, and theres some that have to do it for the unlockables alone so they can have a decent shot at pvp.

take your pick we all got our reasons.

Well I have found a good place for an ele to farm for XP and gold. The gold is no to great but better than most places. The XP is useful.

The place is my little home so don't ask.

farming is fun espeically with a smiting monk... the excitiment for me doesn't come from getting new runes or item, but just seeing dozens of high lvl mobs drop like flies makes you feel your character is godly. (ok i am lame i sux at pvp but there are different ways to enjoy the game)
and no, smiting monks can't really farm anymore because as soon as i cast an enchament its gone from the memser mob everywhere.
If you guys think farming is repetative, how the hell is pvp not repetitive... its a game guys, screw the economy logic and let the developers deal with it, its their job.
